Why Would You Need to Convert a PDF File to JPG Format?
In this ‘Quik Tip’, we will be discussing the term PDF to JPG:
• Why is it important to know these terms?
• How does it relate to my project?
Steve and Mark own and operate Ship 2U a small shipping store. Jack, a first time customer comes in the store to have a package shipped out. This particular time Mark was out doing some other business related work so Steve stepped in to help Jack.
Steve and Jack got to talking a little bit about what each others companies offer their clients. After a few minutes of talking Steve asked Jack, I’m having a problem with one of our customers. Would you have any suggestions? Jack asked him what kind of problem; I’ll try to help you, if I can. Steve proceeded to tell him that one of his customers e-mails him Adobe® PDF files that have four pages included in them.
Adobe® PDF files are great, because one PDF file can consist of 1 to many pages. The term PDF stands for Portable Document Format. Which also means that it is a compressed format and very useful. It is a format that a lot of computers can read, as long as you have the Adobe® Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer.
PDF Specs:• Very useful format
• Compressed
• Easy to print from
• Font friendly
• Looks same as a print out
Marks problem was that he needed to print the PDF file as a four panel brochure on a sheet size of 11.00” x 17.00.” Not as two 8.50" x 11.00" separate sheets double-sided. You see, Marks main business is not printing brochures for his customers. His goal was to satisfy his customer’s needs and to provide the best possible customer service he could. Prior to Mark asking for Jack's opinion he would struggle to figure out a way to accomplish this task.
The option that Jack gave him was to convert the Adobe® PDF file into separate JPG files for each page. Converting from the Adobe® PDF format to a JPG format would require him to purchase additional software to accomplish this task. By doing a quick search on his phone Jack was able to find several companies’ that provide this type of service. Jack let Steve know what he found and then both said goodbye. When Jack got back to his office he researched it even further and found one company stood out because they offered this feature and more. The company is called CoolUtils Development. SGP Final Thoughts
By converting the Adobe® PDF file into four separate JPG files would be more manageable in this case. Steve's option now would be to place the four JPG files into a Microsoft® Word document with a page size being at 11.00" x 17.00"or another type of desktop publishing program. Once the desired look was achieved the last thing would be to print the document double sided. The out come would be a great looking print out.
Another option is when ever possible try to create the document at the correct size that you need to print it at. It will make all the difference when you need to print the document out.
